Europe Now: Building a Digital, Prosperous and Democratic Future is a high-profile initiative that aims to promote digital innovation, economic prosperity and democratic values in the Europe.
Many useful views on Greece’s position in Europe, as well as the contribution of the European Information Center operating in the Region of Western Greece, were heard during the “Europe Now” Conference, which took place on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at the Archaeological Museum of Patras.
The main guest of the conference was the New Democracy MEP Mr. Dimitris Tsiodras, who analyzed the data that applies today, referring to the issue of defense equipment that will reach 800 billion and what was decided at the last summit.
In the Digital Economy section, the Deputy Regional Governor for Entrepreneurship, Research and Innovation Mr. Takis Papadopoulos was present, referring to the excellent work being done in Western Greece with Europe Direct. He also referred to the programs and actions implemented by the Region of Western Greece in relation to the digital transformation of businesses and citizens who do not have access to information, with the ultimate goal of bringing them closer to the European Union and the European economic and social situation.
Speakers at the conference were: the Secretary General for Social Solidarity and Combating Poverty Mr. Prodromos Pyrros, the Director of the Special Office of the Secretary General for Vulnerable Citizens and Institutional Protection Mr. Dimitrios Georgiadis and the Assistant Professor Mr. Giorgos Thanasas.
Greetings were delivered by the Deputy Regional Governor Mr. Charalambos Bonanos and the Head of Europe Direct Ms. Maria Voutsina.
