Today’s Union is bigger, more diverse and dealing with increasingly complex issues.
80% of Europeans consider it important to be informed about European issues.
70% of Europeans want to know more about their rights as citizens.
Almost two thirds of Europeans think that the information available about the EU is useful and interesting, but almost the same proportion considers the information available to be insufficient. There is a desire for a more open debate in which citizens can express their views to influence the decision-making process at EU level.
For these reasons, the EUROPEAN INFORMATION CENTRE – EUROPE DIRECT – WESTERN GREECE aims to continuously inform and raise awareness of all citizens at local and regional level on the priorities and policies of the EU in areas such as:
